Twitch is an Amazon subsidiary. It has been recognized by gamers as a leading streaming platform in the world today. For those who are unanointed, Twitch is an online video streaming service. It also offers many other special functions.
In 2011, when video streaming service was not yet developed, Twitch was considered as a “channel”. Like "Let’s Plays" or walkthroughs, this channel focused on game streaming and allowed viewers to watch e-Sports matches. Viewers watched gamers play video games directly through the titles thanks to this service. At this point, Twitch was a small branch of the general-interest streaming service named Justin.tv.
Today, Twitch has many traits like Youtube stars. It offers thousands of creative videos, music broadcasts and "in real life" streams.
By October 2013, Twitch attracted 45 million people to watch online video streams. Two months later, just behind the giants such as Netflix, Google, and Apple, Twitch had the 4th largest Internet traffic in the United States. Twitch achieved the aforementioned successes although it was known as a spin-off of Justin.tv streaming service.
Speaking of Justin.tv,all of its resources weremerged for Twitch, not any other content portfolio or initiatives. Before closing in August, Justin.tv was renamed Twitch Interactive. In the same month when Twitch Interactive replaced Justin.vn, the company was bought by Amazon for an astonishing price of $ 970 million.
In a leading commercial event for the video game industry called Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Twitch became the official live-video streaming platform.Previous successes helped Twitch become the leading service and more and more popular among young people.
One year later, Twitch was proud to announce that it attracted 100 million viewersper month. Besides, streaming content was produced by 1.5 million broadcasters. It allowed viewers to freely choose their favorite content.

Twitch was groundbreaking to develop into a niche service, not just known as an esports service at the time it was created. We have to admit that Twitch has made the right development and achieved great achievements. As of May 2018, Twitch owns a huge number of broadcasters, up to 2.2 million and the number of users is 15 million per month.
